The staff for Summer School 2008 are dedicated to providing a safe, student-friendly atmosphere where students can make the most of this educational experience.  To help provide this atmosphere, the staff expects students to also conduct themselves in ways that contribute to making this summer school academic setting a positive experience for all students.

Summer School 2008 is designed to help those students that have demonstrated the willingness to work at their studies, but still struggle in certain areas.  As a result, we will rely heavily on teacher recommendations for admission into Summer School 2008.

Expectations for student conduct are as outlined in the student handbooks for Papillion Junior and La Vista Junior High Schools.

A student may be dismissed from the program is any of the following situations occur:

            -  More than 3 unexcused absences out of 24 class days

            -  More than two tardies in a class (2 tardies = 1 absent day)

            -  Inappropriate behavior as delineated in the student handbook

            -  Chronic behavior problems with multiple office referrals - (no more than one office referral per class)

            -  More than two days with homework not completed.

One big concern is the days leading up to July 4th.  Any type of fireworks is strictly prohibited on summer school grounds.
