About Papillion Jr. High P.E.-
Physical Education is taken by every grade here at Papillion Junior High. 7th grade students have P. E. every other school-day, while 8th graders have. P.E. for one straight semester, and 9th graders have a high school credit class for one semester here at Papillion Junior High.
Students participating in Physical Education are required to have a separate set of clothing set aside specifically for P.E. This set must meet the schools dress policy.
The P. E. department will issue students a P.E. locker and lock for $1.00. A fine is issued to students with lost locks. Any valuables that will not fit into the students locker may be placed in the P. E. office. Remember, keep your combination to yourself!
A variety of activities will be offered through out the class time. Stretching, fitness runs, games, and activities are all included in Phys. Ed.
Papillion Jr. High offers a program by the name of PEOPLE P.E. This program is an adapted P.E. program for those with special needs. They meet daily during second hour and enjoy playing modified versions of team sports. They also play activities such as parachute, scooters, ring toss, scoops, and wiffle ball. The PEOPLE P.E. program uses dyna-bands as well as small hand weights to build strength. During class, a specialized version of "aerobics" is done to the favorite songs of the students. Currently, the program has nine students and four ninth grade student aides. These aides were hand selected by Mrs. Hunsley last year after reviewing the letters written explaining why he or she would be a contribution to the program. The paraprofessionals that assist with the class are Mrs. Edgar and Mrs. Larry along with the class instructor, Mrs. Hunsley.
